Attending the annual HETTANZ (Home Economics and Technology Teachers’ Association of New Zealand) conference is always a highlight. Held last month in Ōtautahi Christchurch it didn’t disappoint with many key speakers, networking, and learning opportunities.
Food teachers were delighted with Nadia Lim's kitchen masterclass where they tasted a delicious lamb satay and poached pear tart. They also sampled choko – a tasty green that can be used similarly to zucchini.
Nadia also delved into discussions regarding New Zealand's prospects in Agri-tourism. She also stressed the significance of imparting food skills to students as a key life skill.
Her top advice for adding more vegetables into your day was to roast a medley of vegetables and store them in the fridge. Reheat portions for breakfast pairing with poached eggs. We like this simple way to add one more vegetable to your day!
