  1. Trim the asparagus of any hard ends and cut to desired length.
  2. Arrange the asparagus in a single layer in a glass dish or similar.
  3. Boil the kettle and pour over the asparagus, completely covering the spears.
  4. Allow to sit for 2-3 minutes then drain and refresh under cold water.
  5. Drain well before using.
